Early life
John lewis was born on February 21, 1940 in Troy, Alabama. His parents were Willie Mae and Eddie Lewis. He tried to help his parents with work but couldn't with the unfairness of segregation.

John lewis's Struggle
John lewis was the youngest speaker at the event of the civil rights movement. He made a speech saying "We all recognize the fact that if any radical social, political and economic changes are to take place in our society, the people, the masses, must bring them about." When he went through these movements he got severely beaten and got a fractured skull.
